Mindy Opper

Hi! I’m Mindy Opper, a family practice Physician Assistant and Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant. Welcome to Prana Family Practice at The Red Willow Healing Center. I have been a primary care/family practice PA for almost 22 years. My focus over the years has been in women’s health and reproductive care, along with primary care of families. I have also nurtured a belief in integrative medicine for as long as I have been practicing health care.

I have worked mainly in Missoula, helping to take care of the people of my community. Opportunities for work have been at Planned Parenthood, private family practice, Partnership Health Center and Blue Mt. Clinic. I have absolutely loved being able to work in diverse settings, each place giving me more fullness to the experience of being a health care provider. I have enjoyed the diversity of the populations I have worked with as well. It became apparent to me last year, that it was time for me to get more education in integrative care and that has come to me through the study of ayurvedic medicine. I attended school in California over a seven month time frame to study the foundations and basic practices of ayurveda. Upon completion of this diploma course, I could no longer ignore the call to begin a new practice. The Red Willow Healing Center came along at just the right time for me to begin this exploration.

My goals and intent in being part of Red Willow are to practice quality medicine, both preventive and wellness based. I will be utilizing my allopathic(western) skills and combining them with ayurvedic lifestyle management for those who want that. I will continue to see women, children and men for services. For those people looking to really make a change in their health status, I will be available. I also look forward to collaborating my skills with the other practitioners at the center for other avenues of care.

I truly believe that each one of us has the innate wisdom and abilities to heal from within, on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. We need all of these levels to achieve our best, health and other wise. I have always felt that by utilizing multiple resources from complimentary treatment options, a person may achieve better results than by one way only. I look forward to being able to offer these services to our community.

I have resided in Missoula for 30 years. I am truly committed to being part of  this community. I live here with my husband and 2 giant dogs. We have a large garden and put up most of our own food. I am involved with the local food movement and enjoy the blessings of our great natural setting. I am honored to be part of this new and amazing healing center. I hope that I can continue to contribute to help people reach their optimum health status. Thank you for considering me as your health care provider.
